The ELCIR Diaconal Department helps congregations organize their diaconal ministry in association with our partners in developing and enhancing diaconal projects which will help receive funds for diaconal work.

As part of its aid activities, the department provides our Church’s lay members and clergy with medicines and hygiene articles, groceries, rehabilitation means, clothes and shoes, helps organize distribution of Holy Communion to bedridden patients in their homes, collects money or material items to take care of specific need, helps organize funerals, and ministers to 3 old people’s homes (Holy Communion and soulcare).
