At the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic when churches closed their doors, it was necessary to set up webcasts of worship services and Bible studies for St. Mary’s church members. A team of creative parishioners put their hand to the plow! This enabled those who could not come to the church in person, to participate in the service of the Word and a Bible study without leaving home!
What was the result?
As a result, the congregation expanded its boundaries far beyond St. Petersburg. Now its webcasts are watched in different parts of Russia as well as in Finland, Latin America, Canada, the United States, Poland, Latvia, and in many other countries. Today, if a church-goer was not able to come to the Sunday worship service for whatever reason, they can still pray, sing the chorales, and meditate on God’s Word together with the congregation.
All of this has become possible thanks to the close-knit video ministry team. Today, St. Mary’s webcasts include the Sunday morning worship service in Finnish, the daytime worship service in Russian, and a Bible study. St. Mary’s church has ambitious plans to expand this ministry!
